Watching the process of making everyday things is oddly satisfying. Sparking the hit show ‘How It’s Made‘, it’s always incredible to discover the unique manufacturing processes that lead to items and objects we use every day.
Here’s a video showing how printer ink is made. I’m not sure what it is, but large amounts of powdered color always pleases my aesthetic cravings. I never knew that creating ink was such an art form. I assumed that machines just cranked out colors, but watching this master ink maker create color brings to light an entirely new level of appreciate for printing ink.
It’s extremely scientific how they go about the process. Ensuring that the colored powder is at it’s smallest size, testing for perfect dispersion of color. It’s really incredible. To really appreciate it, you need to watch the video. This guys passion and knowledge almost makes me want to make ink!
