Incredible Video of Magic Leap’s New Headset Hologram Technology

by onApril 20, 2016

This awesome video showcasing Magic Leap‘s [a very secretive mixed reality startup] new technology is pretty incredible. Apparently there’s a headset capable of doing what you see in this video.

It’s pretty interesting. Looking almost like a hologram, it would be pretty cool to browse the web like this! My only thought’s are, how is the display staying stable while he’s viewing it? If it’s being projected from the wearer’s headset, it would move when his head moves. That makes me think there are probably some small markers/sensors on the table, giving the projection locking boundaries which will allow it to adjust and keep the image locked on them. If you have a 3DS and have use the cards to project 3D characters around your house, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Anyway, check it out. It looks like it might have a ways to go with actual program functionality, but it’s definitely very cool.

Welcome to a new way to start your day. Shot directly through Magic Leap technology on April 8, 2016 without use of special effects or compositing.
