Drake, always on the top of the music scene, is currently having the biggest sales of his career. His new album Views has sold over 600,000 copies on iTunes in its first 24 hours. With his last album selling 658,000 copies in seven days, he’s going to smash that number with ease!
Drake acknowledged the milestone during a release party for his album late last night in Toronto, which was caught on video. In what may be the most surprising fact of the past eight days which gave us albums from both Drake and Beyoncé—Views will easily surpass the first-week sales of Beyoncé’s latest project Lemonade, which is expected to come in around 700,000 copies sold when the official numbers are released tomorrow. – The Verge
“I got a text messages saying we sold like 600k + copies” Drake to his city of Toronto last night! #VIEWS is getting mixed feelings, what’s your thoughts is it drakes best or his worst? – Utorlive
The likely reason for Beyonces lower numbers is that she relased it via Tidal (Kanye West’s new struggling music service).
If this album hits 1 million in its first week it will become the 21st album in history to do so. Views is currently available through Apple Music and iTunes until this Friday, when it will be released on all other music services.
